Minutes of the meeting held on the 2nd December 2009 at

The Methodist Hall, Chittlehampton. 7.30p.m.

 

Those present: Councillor Mrs M Edwards (Chairman),Councillors  Mrs A Davies (Vice Chairman) Mr M Ives, Mr I Rutland, Mr D Reed,   Mr G Williams, Mrs S Brooks, Mr F Adey, and Mrs R Warren (Clerk)

Mrs Edwards advised the Parish Councillors that Mrs Daphne Roe had resigned as a councillor. Her resignation has been accepted, and she was thanked for her work for the council.

 

 

MATTERS ARISING

 

 

Pigeon Shoot:   An update has been received from NDDC advising that the case is now being dealt with by the legal department.

 

Boundary Review:  The new boundaries should be in place by the 2011 elections.

  

Highway Matters:  Mrs Edwards and Mrs Warren met with Richard Sables from the Highways Department to discuss improvements to the main road through Chittlehampton. He explained that his budgets had been reduced but he would do what he could to improve the road surface.  

 

Affordable Housing:   No further news.

 

Emergency Plans:   Questionnaires have been sent to every address in the Parish and we have received a very good response. At least a third have been returned. The draw for the Prize of £25.00 will take place in Chittle Chatter Stores in the middle of December.

 

 Defibrillator:  The Parish Council have now received the defibrillator and are awaiting receipt of the box. Mrs Brooks to investigate various options for positioning the equipment.

 

Lights at Umberleigh Station.  A letter has been sent to First Great Western asking for the lights to be turned off overnight.

 

Correspondence: Correspondence received has been dealt with.

 

Finance:                             £80.34 Mrs Edwards. Travelling expenses

The budget for 2010-2011 was agreed.

The Precept and Grant for 2010-2011 has been applied for.

                                         

Any other Business  The railway mast at Umberleigh  has been erected. Mrs Warren has written to Network Rail asking for it to be painted as soon as possible.

 

The meeting ended at 8.35 pm. The next meeting will be on Wednesday the 13th January 2010 at 7.30pm at the Methodist Hall Chittlehampton.
