Minutes of the
meeting held on the 24th June 2009 at
the Methodist Hall,
Chittlehampton. 7.30p.m.

Lesley Isaac from NDDC attended the
meeting. She explained how the new system of waste collection would work and
why the changes were being made. This was very informative. She also reminded
us that people who have problems putting out bins could be eligible for an
assisted collection. Anyone wishing to
take advantage of this option should contact the greensweep office on 01271 374776.
Free composting bins are also available. To obtain one contact the greensweep
number as before. Anyone who would have a problem collecting one can contact
Mrs Sally Brooks who will help to arrange this for them on 01769 540524
Mr Frank Adey agreed to be co-opted on to
the Parish Council and joined the meeting. Mr Adey was proposed by Mrs L
Sherwood and seconded by Mr M Ives. He also agreed to become the Umberleigh
Village Hall Representative.
MATTERS
ARISING
Community Awards: The applications will be
considered by the Executive on the 14th July 2009.
Pigeon Shoot: A reply has been received, but no progress
has been made.
Boundary Review: No further news.
Play Equipment:
Repairs have been made to the swings. The swings are vandalised on a
regular basis.
Highway
Matters:
Mrs
Warren to report blocked drains and potholes in the Parish.
Affordable
Housing:
No further news.
Emergency Plans: A meeting has been held and it was decided to
send a questionnaire to every household in the Parish. The format was agreed
and Mrs Warren to work out costings. Mr Rutland looked at the cost of
generators but it was agreed that the cost would be prohibitive. Mr Richard
Anderson provided the meeting with templates for the plan and a suitable one was
selected.
Defibrillator: Awaiting further
information from the Heart Foundation.
Upkeep of Square and Stocks: A second quote has been received for repairs
to the cobbles in the Square. No decision has yet been made.
Correspondence A letter was received from Chittlehampton
Football Club requesting permission to put advertising boards up on the bottom
fence of the playing field. It was agreed that they could do this providing
they were portable and were removed after matches.

The Audit was signed and will be sent to
the Audit Commission.
Planning
Decisions:
Ref no’s: 48147 & 48123. Listed and planning
application for alteration to door & windows, insertion of 2 velux windows
& formation of access at Swallow Cottage, Hoe Farm, Umberleigh.
Decision: Granted.
Any other Business: A
complaint was received about wheelie bins being left on the roadside and also
building materials being left by the stocks.
The meeting ended at 9.15pm. The next
meeting will be on Wednesday the 5th August at 7.30pm at the
Methodist Hall Chittlehampton.
