Minutes of the
meeting held on the 13th April 2011 at
The Methodist Hall,
Chittlehampton. 7.30p.m.
Those present: Mrs M Edwards (Chairman) Councillors Mrs A Davies,
Mr M Ives, Mr I Rutland, Mr A Cook, Mrs S Brooks, Mrs C Goddard and Mrs R
Warren (Clerk)
Apologies: Cllr R Edgell.
No Response: Mr G Williams.
Members of the public: 1
Mr Walter White attended the meeting. He
will be the District Councillor from after the 5th May 2011 and will
be attending our meetings whenever possible.
A representative from South Molton Police
attended the meeting. He reported that five phone calls had been made to the
police since the 23rd February 2011. These were all of a minor nature.
Mrs Edwards announced that Lin Sherwood and
Derek Pope had resigned as Parish Councillors. They have been thanked for their
work on the Council.
Minutes of the meeting of the 23rd
February 2011 were agreed and
signed along with the planning minutes of
the 17th March 2011.
MATTERS ARISING
Pigeon Shoot: The appeal against the recent planning
application decision is in progress. The result should be known in about five
weeks.
Boundary Review: No
further news.
Highway Matters: No problems reported.
Snow
Clearing: A
subcommittee has been set up to put a plan in place to deal with disruptions
caused by snowfall. This will be lead by Martin Ives with the assistance of
Sally Brooks.
Affordable
Housing: Mrs Warren to chase up.
Umberleigh
Pedestrian Crossing: No further news.
Public
Open Space Funding: Quotes are being obtained for work to the
Square and other village enhancements.
Correspondence: Correspondence
received was dealt with. It was agreed to make a donation of £50.00 to The
Twinning Association to mark their 25 year anniversary.

Decision: Approved subject to side windows
being frosted and the roof does not overhang the neighbour’s property

application and left the meeting.

Conversion of stable to form dependent
relatives living accommodation at The Old Brewery House, Chittlehampton,
Umberleigh.
Decision: Approved.
Any other Business:
Following comments made by a Councillor and
the proposed changes to the planning rules it was agreed to reassess the way
the Parish Council deal with Planning Applications.
This was Albert Cook’s last meeting before
retiring after 60 years. As a memento of his years of service to the Parish
Council he was presented with a Plate specially made by Roger Cockram. Mrs
Edwards thanked him for all his hard work and wished him a very happy
retirement. Albert spoke about the changes he has seen over the last 60 years
in Chittlehampton.
The meeting ended at 9.30 pm. The next
meeting will be on Wednesday the 18th May 2011 at 7.30pm in the Methodist Hall
Chittlehampton.
